Workaholism

I've always landed jobs that I enjoyed doing. From hanging around in my dad's clinic, Biokinetics Rehab, to dishing out food at Chik-Fil-A, I always seemed to give whatever I was doing my all. I've always walked away from a position with a bit more knowledge, patience, virtue, and a bit more "umph" that drove my desire to work to max speed. With every position I've held, the term "customer service" was always held high and treatment of the staff was second to none.

Interesting Monday

Not only was today's early morning bright and clear - compared to the usual foggy, groggy, dank AM hours - it was full of intriguing personalities at work.

September

I know I haven't been writing as much as I was before, but I am trying to sit and write. I've been busy with work and with life in general, and I think it's gotten to the point that I actually do have a pinch of free time to actually write! OMG!

So much to say and write, so little time! That is how I'm feeling right now. HOWEVER, I will write something on my next day off... Sunday! Maybe I'll just change things up and Vlog what I was wanting to say.....

August brings Smiles!

It's the 1st of the month, and I start my new work in a couple of hours! Couldn't really sleep, due to a leak in the air mattress. My other half is technically sleeping on the floor right now. The sinking feeling I got throughout the night didn't help ease my dream of sinking into quicksand and choking to death, so I got up at 4:55AM and tried to sleep in my computer chair. (Not comfortable!) However, my spirits are still high and up in the air! SOE gave EQ2 a double XP weekend over the last weekend of July, I got 2 job offers, I'm on the last audio book of Harry Potter, and something was bound to go wrong! I'm just happy it was the air mattress and nothing more severe.

Oh! I also got to watch The Social Network! So, hopefully, I'll be doing some blogs in a few days!

Until then --

July 2011

I haven't been keeping up with blogging, but May, June and July have been pretty busy with job hunting and just trying to keep my head up.

However, I was able to get caught up on a few things... fun things.

Hunger inducing, Finger licking, Goodness Gracious, oh George Martin!

Hi. My name is Gabi Gutz, and I'm... a Foodie.

I want to share with you something that blends three of my passions into one. Not only am I a "foodie" - a lover of everything and anything edible - I am also a literary lover and a very avid Old to Middle/Medieval cultural adventurist. I may be Asian, but I love my European histories, literature and cultures. There is one place online that I have fallen in love with, and if I wasn't in California, I'd rush my little Asian ass to the Northeast and tie my bib that shall reach down and around my toes, just to eat to my little heart's content.

What in all the kitchen heavenly bread crumbs am I talking about? I'm talking about the wonderful, creative and ever so drooling...

Just when I think it's safe...

I haven't had any dreams lately. Just as I was enjoying that fact, something had to give. Is it my stress level that triggered it? Maybe it was my plan of handing in my resume? Or was it my mental preparation for the kids at 7:30AM? Whatever triggered it, I'm glad I had my alarm clock!
It felt like this!

For the crafty, DIY sort...

I'd like to introduce someone to you. This person is a very creative and artsy person, who just can't seem to break out of her shell. I'd like for us - me and you
... (I'm looking at you!) - to check out what she has to offer and give feedback.

Memorial Day 2011

Memorial Day. The national holiday that celebrates our fallen soldiers from the Civil War and up to the present-day.

East 2 West Literary Coterie

Oprah has a book club, the New York Times has its list of "best sellers" that naturally becomes a book club, high schools, colleges and even public libraries have reading clubs. There are many, many more clubs, societies and groups on-line that suits just about every person's need to read.

"Rapture"

I'm a bit delayed on "news", but I'm not very big on paying attention to news - unless it has something to do with my life - because everything in the news is usually too damn depressing for me. So, when I started seeing Facebook status updates and Twitter tweets going off about "the end of the world is coming!", "the rapture comes tomorrow!", "are you ready for the end of the world?"; my natural reaction was to turn to my other half and ask: WTF is going on?

Creative Outlet

Everyone has their own creative outlet. I have a few... several... that I turn to on occasion to get my mind and heart off of things.

Since my dreams have been all but sweet and kind, I decided I must turn the happy card over myself. I remembered that I have yet to give my nephew and nieces proper gifts. As July is ever drawing closer, I had to create something for my cousin (preg-O and due in July) that would make everyone smile. So, I came up with the following.... I'm still missing one, but my head is hurting - as in throbbing hurting. Time-out is required and much needed.

For my nephew: Rui Andres Bascos-Sanchez

I have another one made, but it seems to refuse to be uploaded right now.

Until next time--

Dark Dreams (Do You Believe?)

I've said it a few times before: I'm a wuss when it comes to horror movies, thrillers, scary stuff. I jump at nearly every unsuspected sound I hear. I'm afraid of the dark, for crying out loud! (You can ask my other half, if you don't believe me.) However, I have my reasons....

Best Buy

I love Best Buy. I never knew what Best Buy had to offer until I got to college. Yes, I said "until I got to college." My parents never really went to Best Buy, so that's why it took me so long. However, my childhood shopping is for a different entry on a different day. I want to talk about Best Buy. I've bought several electronic goods from Best Buy - printers, monitors, laptop, TV, computer hardware/software (mainly pc games), video games, blu-rays (I don't think I've ever bought a camera though) - and whenever I make a purchase from Best Buy, I tend to spend less than I anticipated to spend. Not to mention: the individual customer service I've experienced has been nothing but awesome!

Month of May

As May turns a warm - oh so very warm - leaf of sunshine and beautiful weather here in Central Coast, California. Though the weather is wonderful, I'm still jobless and on the hunt. Sending 3-5 applications and resumes a day is insane to some, but it's the only thing that's keeps me hopeful. I guess you can say, this weather is boosting my urge to write and boosting my self-esteem to write. There's so many things going on outside of the concerns of finding work that keeps me smiling that once I do stop smiling, it feels as if the weight of the world is back on my shoulders. Yes, that's how important working is to me. Working keeps me sane, keeps me moving, keeps me happy. I'm a workaholic, I'm at my best when I'm working and busy. Hopefully, someone will take notice of that fact and hire me. I'm going crazy just being at home for days at a time. You can say, I'm getting - no, I have - cabin fever, and am starting to go crazier than crazy.

P90X after Day 4

So... I barely survived Day 1 of P90X. I will openly admit: P90X Core Synergistics is the most painful thing I've ever done. So far. LOL. Day 1 worked my abdomen, my arms, and my poor thighs!!! I woke up on Day 2 with a sore... well... sore everything! I stayed lying in bed for about 10 minutes before attempting to roll from my side of the bed to my other half's side - yes, I was groaning the whole way - to roll off the bed.

P90X: Before thoughts

I have been advised - and I believe it too - to not start the P90X program until AFTER I get over my cold. That's probably because after just walking from the car to the house (and vice versa), my dry, sore, scratchy throat makes me feel like I'm hacking up my lung AND my diaphragm.

Death(s) of American Symbol(s)

I have just read an article that probably tops my "most disturbing, most anger driving" list of all time. The title: Second eagle found shot in Tennessee. At first glance of the title, I thought the article was going to be about brown eagles, a brown hawk even. Then, I read the secondary title: $17,000 reward for information on bald eagle killings ($8,500 per eagle/responsible subject). My brain declared: WHAT ... THE ... HELL !?! WHO THE F*CK IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD KILL THE FEDERAL SYMBOL OF THEIR COUNTRY?!?
