Memorial Day 2011

Memorial Day. The national holiday that celebrates our fallen soldiers from the Civil War and up to the present-day.

East 2 West Literary Coterie

Oprah has a book club, the New York Times has its list of "best sellers" that naturally becomes a book club, high schools, colleges and even public libraries have reading clubs. There are many, many more clubs, societies and groups on-line that suits just about every person's need to read.

"Rapture"

I'm a bit delayed on "news", but I'm not very big on paying attention to news - unless it has something to do with my life - because everything in the news is usually too damn depressing for me. So, when I started seeing Facebook status updates and Twitter tweets going off about "the end of the world is coming!", "the rapture comes tomorrow!", "are you ready for the end of the world?"; my natural reaction was to turn to my other half and ask: WTF is going on?

Creative Outlet

Everyone has their own creative outlet. I have a few... several... that I turn to on occasion to get my mind and heart off of things.

Since my dreams have been all but sweet and kind, I decided I must turn the happy card over myself. I remembered that I have yet to give my nephew and nieces proper gifts. As July is ever drawing closer, I had to create something for my cousin (preg-O and due in July) that would make everyone smile. So, I came up with the following.... I'm still missing one, but my head is hurting - as in throbbing hurting. Time-out is required and much needed.

For my nephew: Rui Andres Bascos-Sanchez

I have another one made, but it seems to refuse to be uploaded right now.

Until next time--

Dark Dreams (Do You Believe?)

I've said it a few times before: I'm a wuss when it comes to horror movies, thrillers, scary stuff. I jump at nearly every unsuspected sound I hear. I'm afraid of the dark, for crying out loud! (You can ask my other half, if you don't believe me.) However, I have my reasons....

Best Buy

I love Best Buy. I never knew what Best Buy had to offer until I got to college. Yes, I said "until I got to college." My parents never really went to Best Buy, so that's why it took me so long. However, my childhood shopping is for a different entry on a different day. I want to talk about Best Buy. I've bought several electronic goods from Best Buy - printers, monitors, laptop, TV, computer hardware/software (mainly pc games), video games, blu-rays (I don't think I've ever bought a camera though) - and whenever I make a purchase from Best Buy, I tend to spend less than I anticipated to spend. Not to mention: the individual customer service I've experienced has been nothing but awesome!

Month of May

As May turns a warm - oh so very warm - leaf of sunshine and beautiful weather here in Central Coast, California. Though the weather is wonderful, I'm still jobless and on the hunt. Sending 3-5 applications and resumes a day is insane to some, but it's the only thing that's keeps me hopeful. I guess you can say, this weather is boosting my urge to write and boosting my self-esteem to write. There's so many things going on outside of the concerns of finding work that keeps me smiling that once I do stop smiling, it feels as if the weight of the world is back on my shoulders. Yes, that's how important working is to me. Working keeps me sane, keeps me moving, keeps me happy. I'm a workaholic, I'm at my best when I'm working and busy. Hopefully, someone will take notice of that fact and hire me. I'm going crazy just being at home for days at a time. You can say, I'm getting - no, I have - cabin fever, and am starting to go crazier than crazy.
